Dell XPS 13 2023 Review|| Small yet Powerful

For some time, Dell XPS has been defining what a windows ultra-book should look like with their infinity edge display, carbon fiber wrist rest, and an ultra-thin design. But they have been offering the same design for quite some time now especially for the XPS 15. Now that Dell has redesigned the XPS lineup. Today we are gonna look into their smallest member in the family, the Dell XPS 13. We’ll be covering all the details like performance, battery life, gaming benchmarks and see whether this is the best 13-inch windows ultra-book you can get right now.
Our Detailed Dell XPS 13 2023 Review Start from Here:
Dell XPS 13 2023: Specifications
Just like the previous year Dell has kept the variants for a wide price range from $1199 to all the way to $1999. The base model starts from Intel’s 10th generation core i5, 8GB of ram, and 256GB of storage. Too bad, Dell isn’t including any RYZEN processor from AMD considering how good of a value they provide nowadays. We are having our fingers crossed for the next year. Dell XPS 13 2023: Design
From exterior to interior, the all-new XPS 13 has one of the best designs in our opinion. The surface of the device offers a frost white anodized aluminum finish which is cool to the touch and stylish looking. From the inside they have two offerings, one with black carbon fiber palm rest and the other has frost white glass fiber weave (Dell says alpine white composite fiber palm rest).

The carbon fiber has a very nice weaving which offers durability, heat resistance properties, and very soft to the touch feeling. The Frost white palm rest is a $50 upgrade that has stain-proof properties and looks very cool but doesn’t offer the soft to the touch feeling like the black one. One interesting change of the XPS this year is that they offer now one hand opening (many seem to want this feature). It’s dimension measures 11.6×7.8×0.6 inches and has a weight of 2.8 pounds. XPS 13 now comes with both a fingerprint reader and Windows Hello.
It has two USB-C ports (both with Thunderbolt 3) each on one side. On the right you will find a headphone jack above the Thunderbolt port and on the left there is a microSD slot under the Thunderbolt port.
But unfortunately this time dell removed the battery indicator button that featured previous devices. The laptop features a good quality 720p (how much more can you expect from a bezel this thin) webcam on the top.
Dell XPS 13 2023: Performance
Although a very small laptop, when it comes to performance, the XPS 13 packs the punch featuring upto a 10th gen i7-1065g7 processor with 4 cores and 8 threads. It’s based on Intel’s new 10nm technology providing better single core performance in less TDP. This processor also features the new g7 graphics which provides almost twice as performance as the previous one. For moderate day to day tasks, the laptop flies like a breeze and you won’t notice any hiccups or lags. The thermal is great in XPS 13 due to their twin fan design and intel’s better TDP with 10nm fabrication. The keyboard area remains cool to the touch.
With moderate day to day use such as browsing the internet, media consumption even photo editing it performs well but don’t buy it for heavy usages such as gaming or video rendering.
Here are some performance benchmarks for real life & gaming workloads:
Dell XPS 13 2023: Display
This time dell didn’t only shrink the bezels, but entirely removed the bottom chin. The top, side and bottom bezels measure only 0.15, 0.2, and 0.18 inches only. It features a stunning 13.4 inches 16:10 aspect ratio 1920×1200 resolution screen.
You also have the option for a 4k touch-sensitive screen. In our opinion this is one of the best class displays you can get on any Windows device. It is a very bright screen with 500 nits (officially) of brightness and has 115% sRGB color gamut. If you are someone who likes to watch Netflix or lots of movies, then this device is just for you.
Dell XPS 13 2023: Audio
It now features an upgraded 2W speaker system. Although the speaker is bottom firing, it has very good sound quality compared to other windows based ultra-books, but it is not in class with mac book speakers. The sound of the speaker is very clean and balanced and can fill up a small room in our opinion.
Dell XPS 13 2023: Keyboard & Track Pad
This time Dell has redesigned the keyboard. It now offers bigger keys with great tactile feel and the key travel is also nice. They’ve removed the Page Up and Page Down keys to offer full size left and right keys. The backlighting is also bright enough to type on a dark room.
They’ve also improved the trackpad, now featuring a 4.4×2.6 inches area (17% larger than previous generation). It is a smooth glass trackpad featuring windows precision driver and windows 10 gestures were seamless with this trackpad. The buttons on the trackpad are also improved.
If you are someone who likes a lot of writing and travels around, you will like the experience with this laptop.

Dell XPS 13 2023: Battery Life & Charging
Dell XPS 13 is known for its legendary battery life. It is no exception this time. It offers more than average windows ultra-book battery life. The laptop has a 52 WHr battery and lasted more than 12 hours on the Laptop Mag Battery Test which consists of continuous web surfing over Wi-Fi are 150 nits of brightness. In our test it lasted about 10 hours of usage and will easily get you through the day.
The included power adapter is light and compact enough so that you can take it to your backpack with incurring to much extra weight.

Dell XPS 13 2023: Upgradability
Unfortunately the RAM and the wifi card (killer wifi card) is soldered to the motherboard. So, get the amount of ram you need when buying. But fortunately the SSD (SK Hynix SSD) is still upgradeable.

Final Thoughts
The all-new XPS 13 nails every aspect of a premium ultrabook. If you are someone who needs to carry around a laptop for writing, internet browsing, media consumption or other moderate usages then Dell XPS 13 in our opinion is the best windows ultrabook you can get out there. The only downside is that it is a pricey one starting at $1199.99 for the base model. If the price is not an issue then by all means go with this device and our recommendation is to upgrade to the 16GB RAM to make it more future proof.
